Brittani W. Rollen

Brittani W. Rollen’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, appeals, employment law and business transactions. Brittani joined the firm as an associate in 2005.

Brittani is from Cleburne, Texas. In 2009, Brittani was selected by the YWCA as an honoree in its annual Tribute to Women in Business. Ms. Rollen became a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation in 2010. In 2011, she was selected for membership in Leading Edge, a division of Leadership Fort Worth aimed at strengthening emerging community leaders.

Representative Experience

  • Successfully defended regional blood bank employer in sexual harassment and retaliation suit filed by former employee, obtaining summary judgment on harassment claims and jury verdict on retaliation claims.
  • Negotiated electricity agreements in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2013 for one of the largest school districts in Texas.
  • Opinion letters in complex transactions for clients including a major private university, national owner/lessor of skilled nursing facilities, and Texas electric cooperative.
  • Representation of a national financial institution as lead attorney responsible for over two hundred collection matters totaling in excess of $2 million.
  • Contract and policy review and litigation avoidance advice for clients.

Reported Cases

  • Represented property owners association in defense of a case filed against it by certain property owners who sought to enjoin the POA from enforcing restrictive covenants. Trial court granted summary judgment for POA. Drafted appellate briefing for POA, and case was affirmed on appeal. Burkett et al v. Lake Country Property Owners Association, Inc., No. 02-13-00090-CV, 2014 WL 1510137 (Tex. App.–Fort Worth 2014, no pet.)
  • Represented national brick manufacturer in a case against the appraisal district. Drafted motion for summary judgment establishing that manufacturer was entitled to the pollution control exemption on its plant for tax years 2004-2007. Motion was granted, and appraisal district appealed. Drafted appellate briefing, and case was affirmed on appeal. Bastrop Central Appraisal District v. Acme Brick Company, No. 03-12-00498-CV, 2014 WL 1415188 (Tex. App.–Austin 2014, no pet.)
  • Won summary judgment for employer blood bank in suit by former employee for state law claims of sexual harassment, which was affirmed on appeal. Smith v. Carter BloodCare, No. 02-12-00523-CV, 2014 WL 1257273 (Tex. App.–Fort Worth 2014, no pet.)
  • Successfully represented DFW area car dealer in complex litigation against one of the big 3 automotive manufacturers for the manufacturer’s breach of contract at trial and on appeal. DaimlerChrysler Motors Company, LLC v. Manuel, 362 S.W.3d 160 (Tex. App.–Fort Worth 2012, no pet.)
  • Won summary judgment for employer blood bank in suit by former employee for state law claims of age discrimination, false imprisonment, breach of contract, and defamation. Affirmed by Fort Worth Court of Appeals. Burton v. Carter BloodCare, 2012 WL 42899 (Tex. App.–Fort Worth 2012, no pet.)
  • Won summary judgment for employer public hospital district in suit by former employee under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, which was affirmed on appeal. Bellard v. JPS Health Network, 439 Fed.Appx. 392 (5th Cir. 2011), affirming 2011 WL 825723 (N.D. Tex. 2011)
